Technical 支持 Services

Technical 支持 Services provides routine maintenance, 修复, and calibration of academic equipment in laboratories across campus. TSS also cleans/replaces projector filters across campus each summer and replaces bulbs in overhead projectors.  Examples of maintenance work done by TSS in various departments:

• 生物学, microscopes are 修复ed, calibrated, lubricated, and cleaned each year.  尺度, 离心机, 冰柜, chillers for lobster tanks, 孵化器, and shakers are examples of equipment that periodically need maintenance and 修复.
• Communication and languages - audio and video equipment maintenance.
• 工程- Lab equipment in the Circuits lab, 数字化实验室, 模拟实验室, EMEC实验室, 材料实验室, Fluids lab is checked and calibrated each year.
• 图书馆- projector maintenance and 修复.
• 音乐 - audio equipment in the choir room, auditorium, and various classrooms
• WEC - speaker, projector, and screen maintenance in the gymnasium and various classrooms.
• Ad building - bell ringer maintenance.

With the use of the machine shop and electronics shop, TSS designs and fabricates lab apparatuses for instructional purposes for academic departments. 例如:

• 工程- steel test bars are fabricated for the Structures lab tension test.  Charpy test bars are fabricated for the 材料实验室.  Batteries are maintained for the Surveying class.  学生 receive assistance with their senior projects.
